Boys score 90 at Red Bursey; girls hold Eagles to 11 points on road
BOYS BASKETBALL
Cooperstown 90. New York Mills 41
Junior Miles Nelen scored a game-high 23 points as the Hawkeyes improved to 18-0 with a blowout win over New York Mills in a Center State Conference Division III game Monday, Feb. 10, at Red Bursey Gymnasium.
Cooperstown led by two after one quarter, 14-12, but outscored Mills in the second quarter, 34-7.
Senior Cooper Bradley scored 17 points and sophomore Brody Murdock scored 16 points.
Cooperstown (18-0, 10-0) closes out the regular season by hosting Westmoreland in a division game Monday, Feb. 17.
GIRLS BASKETBALL
Cooperstown 68, Waterville 11
Seventh grader Emma Johnson scored a game-high 23 points as Cooperstown won a CSC Division II game Monday at Waterville.
Johnson also had five rebounds, six steals and three assists.
Eighth grader Lanie Nelen scored 18 points. Senior Brenna Seamon scored four points and had six rebounds, five steals and three assists. Junior Katie Crippen had six points and nine rebounds. Seniors Polly Kennedy and Mia Kaltenbach scored six points each.
Cooperstown (14-4, 5-2) hosts Sauquoit Valley in a division game Tuesday, Feb. 11.
