Cooperstown 69, Morrisville-Eaton 16
Seventh grader Emma Johnson scored a game-high 19 points and Cooperstown held the visiting Mavericks to less than 10 points in every quarter as the Hawkeyes won big in a Center State Conference Division II game Friday, Jan. 24, at Red Bursey Gymnasium.
Cooperstown outscored M-E in the first quarter, 28-6. The Hawkeyes then held the Mavericks to nine points in the second quarter and seven points in the second half, three in the third and four in the fourth.
Johnson also had six rebounds.
Senior Mia Kaltenbach scored 14 points and had four steals. Senior Brenna Seamon scored five points and had nine rebounds, 10 steals and eight assists. Sophomore Sophia Johnson scored eight points and had nine rebounds. Eighth grader Lanie Nelen scored eight points. Senior Bella Reich scored six points. Senior Polly Kennedy scored five points. Junior Katie Crippen scored four points.
Aspen Koehl scored four points to lead M-E (4-7, 1-3).
Cooperstown (13-3, 4-1) hosts division leader Hamilton Tuesday, Jan. 28, at Red Bursey Gymnasium, for a key CSC DII showdown. Hamilton won the first match-up, Dec. 17, in Hamilton, 42-34.
