NYSPHSAA State Championships
Juniors Annelise Jensen and Cooper Bradley finished their track seasons with high placements at the New York State Public High School Athletic Association’s Track and Field Championships at Cicero-North Syracuse on Friday, June 7, and Saturday, June 8.
Cooperstown athletes compete in Division II, which is made up of schools from classes B, C and D.
Bradley finished in a three-way tie for fourth place in the boys high jump Saturday, topping out at 6-foot-2. He had more misses than the other two jumpers, so he placed sixth on criteria. Lucas Craddock of Norwich won the event with a best of 6-foot-6.
After a long delay for thunderstorms Friday, Jensen ran the girls 800 in 2:21.76, placing her 12th. Sophia McInnes of Blueport won the event in 2:08.94.
This was Jensen’s second trip to the state meet. As a freshman in 2022, she placed eighth in the event.
Cooperstown coaches Josie Rusk and Mike Croft expressed pride in the performances of their athletes and noted both Jensen and Bradley have a chance to build on their success for their senior seasons.
