Hawkeyes to host playoff basketball doubleheader Tuesday

Girls seeded No. 5, will host C-M at 5:30; Boys seeded sixth, will host Sandy Creek at 7:15

Red Bursey Gymnasium will host a playoff basketball doubleheader Tuesday, Feb. 20, as the Cooperstown boys and girls each earned a seed in the top half of the Section III Class C basketball playoff brackets.

BOYS BASKETBALL

The Hawkeye boys are seeded No. 6 and will host No. 11 Sandy Creek in the first round at 7:15 p.m.

Waterville (14-6), has been awarded the top seed.

If the top-seeds win, Cooperstown would play a quarterfinal game at third-seeded West Canada Valley. WCV is scheduled to host the Beaver River-Cincinnatus winner Wednesday, Feb. 21.

The quarterfinals are tentatively scheduled for Friday, Feb. 23, at higher-seed sites, the semifinals are scheduled for Tuesday, Feb. 27, at Whitesboro High School, and the championship game is Friday, March 1, at Onondaga Community College in Syracuse.

The quarterfinals are tentatively scheduled for Friday, Feb. 24, at higher-seed sites, the semifinals are scheduled for Monday, Feb. 26, at Syracuse-East Minoa High School, and the championship game is set for Friday, March 1, at Onondaga Community College in Syracuse.
