Hotaling leads post season awards
Cooperstown senior Sophia Hotaling made the All-State soccer team for Class C, according to the New York State Sports Writers Association’s media release Tuesday, Dec. 5.
Hotaling, who made the second team, led the Hawkeyes with 26 goals and nine assists, according to Syracuse.com records. She was also named to the Daily Star All-Star Team and CNY All-Star Team.Â
Hotaling was named a Center State Conference Division III All-Star. Joining her on the first team were seniors Tori France and Olivia Murdock.
Juniors Annelise Jensen and Brenna Seamon were named honorable mention.
For the boys soccer team, seniors Charlie Lambert, Frank Panzarella and Conrad Erway were named CSC Division II All-Stars. Junior Janak Pandit and senior Colyn Criqui were named honorable mention.
Cooperstown girls announce donation recipients
The Cooperstown girls soccer program announced it raised $1,000 during Play for Pink weekend. The annual event raises money for cancer research, and took place Friday, Oct. 6, and Saturday, Oct. 7.
According to event organizers, $500 donations were made to the St. Agatha Foundation and the Bob Simon-Loretta Anagnost Patient Assistance Fund.
The soccer families raised the money by raffling off gift baskets during the two days of games.
