It has been a week the Kennedy clan of Mount Vision will not forget.

Sunday, in Houston, Owen Kennedy Jr., a 2018 Cooperstown Central School graduate, scored the national-championship winning points for Christendom College in the Small College Cohen Cup Rugby Championship, helping the Crusaders beat New Mexico Tech, 34-29.

Younger brother John, a 2021 CCS graduate, helped secure the winning try.

For their efforts Owen was named the tournament MVP and John was named to the all-tournament team.

In between finals at their Front Royal, Virginia, Catholic-based school and Owen’s 22nd birthday, the newly crowned Kennedys answered questions about their title game and season via emails for this paid subscribed exclusive.
