Volleyball sweeps Waterville for Jantzi's 250th win; boys basketball tops S-E
Lambert scores 23, Murdock 16 in home win; Gentles has six kills, 14 digs in road win

Cooperstown 67, Sherburne-Earlville 53
Senior Charlie Lambert scored a game-high 23 points and freshman Brody Murdock had 16 points as Cooperstown won a Center State Conference non-division game Friday, Dec. 22, at Red Bursey Gymnasium.
Cooperstown led at halftime, 34-18, and it took a fourth-quarter S-E run to make the score closer.
Lambert also had four assists and four steals. Murdock also had four assists.
Sophomores Cooper Coleman and Jackson Crisman each scored 10 points. Junior Cooper Bradley had 10 rebounds. Junior Leo Sheffield scored eight points.
Dilen Maceda led Sherbune-Earlville (3-6, 1-1) with 18 points.
Cooperstown (5-3, 2-2) will host Richfield Springs/Owen D. Young in the first round of the Dick White Holiday Basketball Tournament at 6:30 p.m., Wednesday, Dec. 27.

Senior Violet Gentles had six kills and 14 digs and senior Lucy Hayes had 15 assists as Cooperstown swept host Waterville in a Center State Conference Division II match, 25-13, 25-12, 25-19.
Gentles also had two assists and two aces. Hayes also had four kills, six digs and two aces.
Junior Alexis Wolfe had 11 digs, three kills, two assists and two aces. Junior Sophia Badgley had three aces, three digs and a kill.
The win was the 250th varsity win for Jantzi, who has coached at the school for more than two decades.
Cooperstown (6-1, 4-1) will host Owen D. Young for a CSC non-division match Friday, Jan. 5.
Help needed for Tournament Week!
Cooperstown will host the 40th annual Dick White Holiday Basketball Tournament on Wednesday, Dec. 27, and Thursday, Dec. 28. Cooperstown/Milford wrestling will host the annual Cooperstown Invitational Wrestling Tournament on Saturday, Dec. 30. We still need a lot of help staffing the concession stand, especially Saturday.
